Too late...

As I peeked beneath the table, I could not believe what I had just witnessed. I had to take a second look to realise that my eyes did not lie to me.
The young stranger, my love, was so physically inhuman. He rested his cloven hooves beneath the table like they were feet.
A cold atmosphere filled the room as I ruptured the ears of those inside with my impulsive screams. I used my hands to shield my eyes from such a monstrosity.
In a state of shock, I felt it necessary to identify my love as the devil himself. I could not contain my anguish and required reassurance from him above anyone. I hoped my fears were nothing beyond imagination.
The fireplace went dead as he became the flame to exposure. He was consumed by great anger and rapidly exited through the roof.
The indentation he left in the structures of the roof felt like that of my heart, a hole that would remain permanent.
Do you believe heartbreak to be irreversible?
